We anchored right outside the Levuka wharf in about 30ft of soft sand. Levuka is primarily a small fishing village and is not a primary point of entry for cruisers. We found Customs & Immigration to be super friendly and quick!
We hiked Levuka Peak which was steep and took about 1.5hrs. Other than that, we did not find much to do here in this sleepy town. We did visit & toured the local hospital to pick up our health form.
Several grocery stores located on Noforeignland. We purchased kava to take the the Yasawa villages at Anna's shop which also has fresh bread daily.
If you are looking for a 1-2 day turn around on your cruising permit - this is the place to check in. At the time we arrived, Savusavu was taking 7-10 days and we were told that Suva was unsafe. The people are incredibly friendly.
We decided to splurge and stay a the new Nawi marina for a few days so that we could take advantage of the community, AMAZING showers and free water (laundry & boat cleaning!). Our boat only cost $40/night. After a few nights, we paid for a mooring ($5/night) right outside the marina.
The Vou Flying Fijian circus was in town while we were visiting. This was AMAZING! Nakama thermal hot springs a healthy walk.
RB Patel was the nicest grocery store. The market is HUGE and has all your fresh fruit and veggies. The Hot Bread kitchen makes really good fresh bread (and other sweet treats) daily.
For the price, you really cannot miss the Nawi marina. This was the nicest marina that we have ever been too. The staff is super friendly and provides a free shuttle across to the mainland. The marina has several free activities such as morning walks, introduction to kava class, & basket weaving.
After cruising the Yasawa Islands for two weeks we needed some provisions and Shannon needed some comforts of civilization. The Musket Cove Resort offers resort style amenities to yachties for a small fee with access to their pools, restaurants, stores & more.
Dingy dock, hobie cat rental, swimming pools, beach bar, Sunday buffet, Kids club, Daily activities including Sunday beach performance.
Musket cove surprisingly, had a lot for a resort. Between Musket and the neighboring Plantation Resort have quite a few shops for provisions, souveniers, ice cream & more.
We very much enjoyed our morning walks around the island. See google maps or All trails. Neighboring Plantation Resort is also very cruiser friendly for kids activities, bars and food.
We filmed 6 videos in Fiji during our 8 week stay.
