Only one location in Niue close to the main settlement of Alofi. Very exposed position if predominant trade winds change to an westerly component. Water is very deep with loads of coral. The Yacht Club maintains the moorings and seem to be nearly brand new. Limited availability so you must call and reserve a ball in advance. Moorings are $30NZ per night. Contact Niue Yacht Club on Channel 16 upon arrival to give you a ball number. If your lucky, you will hear whales singing off the back of your boat.
Tavala arches, Matapa chasm, Limu pools, Palaha Cave, Avaiki cave, Vaila cave, Togo chasm (our favorite)
Swanson supermarket
We only had 4 days in Niue. We rented a car for $140US for 3 days and saw the majority of the highlights. Definitely, stop by the Tourism office to get current happenings. We watched a local lawn bowling tournament and after had beers with the locals.
Episode 72 and 73 were both filmed on the unique island called Niue. This was one of our FAVORITE islands in all of the Pacific!
