We checked into the Bahamas at Old Bay Marina in West End. Only the captain gets off the boat with all the documents while the crew waits onboard. Check-in only took about 30 minutes.
90 cruising permit, fishing license and passenger immigration was $300.
Our first three nights we anchored right outside of Old Bahama Bay Marina. Good holding starting in about 20ft of water.
We moved into the abandoned Ginn Sur Mer neighborhood for 6 days. Good holding and room for at least 3-5 catamarans.
Snorkeling, catching lobster, spearfishing
There are a few shops inside Old Bahama Bay Marina. We did walk to a small grocery store with a few fresh fruits and veggies, bread staples. Grab what fresh veggies you need here as this as the biggest store until we made it to Green Turtle.
NOT Shannon's favorite island. Great protection for northern and easterly winds.
Snorkeling, catching lobster, spearfishing, hiking
Nada - this is an uninhabited island

Shopping, nightlife
Fuel dock at white sound yacht club. TWO well stocked grocery stores with fresh produce, frozen foods, etc. Sid's was my favorite. Multiple bakeries (make sure to get there early before they sell out). Miss Emilie's Bee Bar for the "original" goombay smash (a bit pricey at $10 for a small cup). Robert's hardware store for limited selection (has spear fishing and small amount dive supplies). Too Shorty's takeaway for "the best food on the island". Very greasy, Rob liked the wings. Sundowners or Pineapple Bar and Grill for evening cocktails and bar food.
Limited protection from the north and northeast. Beautiful private island.
Snorkeling, diving, spearfishing, paddleboarding. Amazing protected lagoon with sand dollars and pink sand. Reef just outside island is great for snorkeling!
Nada - private island without shopping
Marsh Harbor most eastern end in front of Jib Room/Conch Inn. Spent 15 days here including waiting out a blow with 48 knot winds.
Great place to pick up guests from airport. Stock up on groceries, liquor, boat supplies. Nice dining at Color's and Jib Room. Don't miss Jib Room's rib night on Wednesday night!
AMAZING grocery store at Maxwells, Fully stocked hardware store Maxwells Hardware, Bubbles laundry, Coffee shop, Multiple liquor stores, National marine (very pricey), Parts City (hardware and auto store). Airport.
Very narrow inlet to the anchorage. Stay more toward the center or port when entering. The mooring buoys are owned by different people. The double red are for the Hopetown Marina. We used this one and also had access to the Marina trash disposal, pool and restaurant.
You can't miss touring the Hopetown lighthouse. Entrance is free but donations help maintain the lighthouse. Dingy to the last dingy dock with the white pavilion and walk through the picturesque town. Hopetown canvas has a great store to buy items made from reclaimed sails.
Hopetown canvas has a great store to buy items made from reclaimed sails. Vernons grocery is very small but has staples and some fresh fruit and veg. Cap'n Jacks often have live music and the conch fritters were some of the best we have had in all the Abacos.
We anchored right outside the inlet to Spanish Wells. There is no dingy dock located so you park along the wall where there is space. The locals are very vocal about there not being a dingy dock and your dingy is not welcome. We tied up for about 30min just to run to the grocery store.
There is a large grocery store about a 10min walk.
We arrived here on New Year's Day so not much was open. Several small local restaurants.

The Aquarium - this beautiful snorkel spot is just a quick dingy ride away.
Drug plane airplane wreck - submerged in about 30ft of water is a small cesna aircraft nose down in the sand.
Rachel's Bubble Baths - over on nearby Compass Cay is Rachel's Bubble Bath. Make sure you go at high tide to see the best waves and bubbles!
Rocky Dundess - this is best viewed at low tide and we never made it.
There is no shopping close by. Make sure to provision very well in Marsh Harbor, Nassau or Georgetown.
We anchored off Staniel Cay close to the grotto for only about two hours while in transit to Black Point.
The only activity that we did near Staniel is Thunderball grotto. This is an amazing experience that is best seen at low tide or otherwise you will need to dive in to view.
We anchored here for 4 days while waiting out a 40kt blow with great holding.
There is a blow hole located on the east side of the island best seen at high tide.
There are three very small grocery stores on this island. Minimal fresh fruit and veg.
We anchored just south of Chat N' Chill along with 4 other kid boats.
Monument Hill hike
Morah Cays Lazy River
The Exuma Market located just outside the dingy dock is your best bet for provisioning. They get a mailboat in on Tuesday or Wednesday and we found Thursday mid-morning to be the best time for the most stocked groceries.
